Install Instructions

Automatic Install of AjaxPortal

(as easy as 1-2-3)

1. Unzip/Untar/Unrar the downloaded AjaxPortal source file under your WEB server (Apache/ISS) directory tree, preserving directory structure found in our source file. This will create the following main structure under your desired extract path:

  your_path
  |___AjaxPortal
      |___images
      |___install
      |___tmp

2. Point your favorite internet web browser to
http://your_domain.com/your_path/AjaxPortal/install/
and follow the install instructions.

3. Point your browser to
http://your_domain.com/your_path/AjaxPortal/
and start using AjaxPortal.

During the installation or after that you should chmod "777" the following folder:
   AjaxPortal/tmp
and the file
   AjaxPortal/serverdata.php

Remember!!!

Your username and password are both set to demo or to demo1. Please change them. You should delete the install folder with all files in it.

Manual Install of AjaxPortal

1. Unzip/Untar/Unrar the downloaded AjaxPortal source file under your WEB server (Apache/ISS) directory tree, preserving directory structure found in our source file. This will create the following directory structure under your desired extract path:

  your_path
  |___AjaxPortal
      |___images
      |___install
      |___tmp

2. Open the file AjaxPortal/serverdata.php and supply the required information.

• dbHost - your Mysql server (usually "myioneta.ipowermysql.com")
• dbUser - your Mysql server user name
• dbPass - your Mysql server password
• dbName - your Mysql data base name
• dbPfix - optional prefix for database tables

3. Create MySQL tables needed by AjaxPortal. Table structure is in AjaxPortal/install/mysql.sql file. You may use phpMyAdmin for this, or the command line mysqladmin - a part of your MySQL distribution.

4. Chmod "777" the following folder:
   AjaxPortal/tmp
and the file
   AjaxPortal/serverdata.php

Remember!!!
